Code of Conduct – ABIUDEA

1. Upholding professional ethics, neutrality and impartiality

ABIUDEA promotes respect for the environment and sustainable development. All staff must act ethically, objectively and without discrimination, following the principles of impartiality and neutrality in their work.

2. Conflicts of interest

Staff must avoid situations in which their personal or family interests could influence decision-making within the organization. Conflicts must be reported to management immediately, and concealing them carries disciplinary consequences.

3. Gifts

ABIUDEA prohibits giving or receiving gifts that could compromise the organization's independence. In exceptional cases, gifts worth more than USD 50 must be reported.

4. Fraud and corruption prevention

Any form of corruption, fraud or misappropriation of funds is strictly prohibited. Resources must be used solely for the purposes for which they were intended. Suspected cases must be reported immediately.

5. Prevention of sexual exploitation

Sexual exploitation and abuse are prohibited. Staff must maintain a respectful environment and refrain from any degrading, discriminatory or abusive behaviour, especially towards children, women and people with disabilities.

6. Use and protection of assets

ABIUDEA's resources, such as vehicles, equipment and materials, must be used responsibly. Assets must be returned once they are no longer needed and may not be used for personal purposes.

7. Data protection and intellectual property

Staff must protect sensitive information and the personal data of the people we serve, following the organization's data processing policies. Misuse of intellectual property is prohibited.

8. Weapons

Carrying weapons on ABIUDEA premises or transporting them in the organization's vehicles is strictly prohibited, except with management authorization.

9. Alcohol and drugs

The consumption of alcohol and drugs is prohibited in the organization's offices and vehicles. Staff must not work or drive under the influence of these substances.

10. Media relations and social networks

All communication with the media must be handled responsibly and through the communications team. Staff must follow the organization's guidelines on the use of social networks.
